The Impact of Pure Happiness
ON March 15, 2019. It was a colourful and memorable day for the Friends from Day School, Workshop and Autism Centre. Our Founder Director Dr. Neelima Desai organized a whole day picnic in Thergaon for everyone. There were many activities like boating,
Hula Hoops, slide, and swings. The area was surrounded by greenery and pleasant air. There was also a lake, Pawna Lake.
Bhakti played in the sand. Swara, Ashwin, Soham, and Shraddha enjoyed rides on the merry-go- around. Yash was swinging with full enthusiasm. Then they all washed their hands and sat to enjoy a lunch of chapatti, dal, pulav, and paneer sabji.
After lunch and a short rest, we played Mazya aai ch patra haravla. After that, we played Passing the Ball. At that time, a strange thing happened. A boy who never speaks, said, “Toilet jana hai.” He spoke a full sentence. At first, even he was shocked and scared. But he slowly relaxed.
Later, we ate ice cream and left Thergaon at 4.30 p.m. The children formed a single line and walked to the bus. We didn’t have to tell them to form a line and walk to the bus.
Both incidents opened my eyes. I learnt there are many things these children will do when they are very happy. I sincerely hope there are many more such activities that will give great happiness to these special people.
