Nurturing Independence: A Glimpse into Navkshitij’s March Endeavors

As March drew to a close, Navkshitij, a haven for mentally challenged adults, buzzed with activity and accomplishment. Amidst the chaos of deadlines and deliveries, our dedicated team ensured that every aspect of our organization was primed for success. With a growing roster of CSR partners, meticulous planning led by Managing Trustee Smita Shetty, and the proactive efforts of our team members, Navkshitij stood ready to embark on new ventures and expand our support for intellectually disabled individuals.

One significant milestone was the installation of generators and solar panels across all our centers. Thanks to the generosity of our CSR partners, our Marunji unit now harnesses solar energy to meet its electricity needs, with plans to replicate this sustainable solution at Asawali. As summer approached, we fortified our facilities with essential amenities like refrigerators, water coolers, fans, and air coolers, ensuring comfort and safety for our special friends.

Recognizing the evolving needs of our aging residents, we established a recovery nursing unit at Marunji, equipped with comprehensive medical facilities. Collaborating with Sevatarang, an NGO specializing in capacity building for NGOs, we’re enhancing our organizational systems to support our growth effectively.

In April, we celebrate a significant leap forward as four of our special friends embark on employment at Raychem RPG (P) Ltd, a testament to their abilities and the dedication of Mr. Parameshwaran Iyer. Additionally, we’re exploring opportunities for vocational training, with the support of Mask Polymers Pvt. Ltd, to empower our residents with valuable skills.

Construction progress at Asawali, spearheaded by Trustee Mr. Suneel Kulkarni, promises expanded facilities to cater to the growing needs of our community. Amidst these developments, Navkshitij remained true to its spirit of celebration, marking occasions like Mahashivratri and Holi with traditional fervor, supported by volunteers and sponsors.

The month concluded with a heartfelt gesture from POSCO India Pune Processing Center Pvt. Ltd., who donated an ambulance to our Talegaon unit, ensuring swift access to medical care when needed.

As we reflect on the whirlwind of activities and achievements in March, Navkshitij reaffirms its commitment to fostering independence, dignity, and joy for intellectually disabled adults, setting the stage for a future filled with boundless possibilities.
